The tasting room is very nice and has a long bar perfect for groups, great view of the vineyard and nice patio with the same view. Riesling has been our go-to wine since we actually started buying wine vs. drinking only the free Chardonnay and Merlot provided at work events or weddings.
Methven Family Vineyards is one of the few who grown them and in fact sell them to other producers in the region. She invited us to go outside and sit on their patio and she brought our tastings out to us. Since moving to Oregon, we’ve taken an annual trip to Cannon Beach the first few days of June. A few wineries we’ve been to lately make you walk back up to the counter, even when quiet, which counteracts the whole “relax and enjoy” aspect of a winery.All in all we’d come back to Methven Family Vineyards for another round of tastings when we’re in the area. We were treated very well and our host was friendly and knowledgable. Methven Family Vineyards Family Owned Eola-Amity Vineyard and Winery. Educated by Bethany (friend's ex-housemate), we went through their line up of wines. They certainly wanted their $15 tasting fee though.. or they would waive it if we bought two bottles of their mediocre wine.Recently went to this winery as part of a tour and I have to say I was very impressed.
Most wineries close at 5pm; 6pm if you’re lucky. FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY. Wine master very good. Then we found Methven! We went to Methven on a typical Wednesday. DAMN guess that means I'll just have to go back.Always great, always a very good selection of wine. Maybe you don't know either, but it is about time you did. Our favorite was the Gamay Noir.I've been here a couple of times with a friend, and I really like it here.
Boutique wine selections, private event venue & stunning views. The ambiance was perfect. The other reds are drinkable, but not memorable. Our host was amazing, he was cordial and conversational and knew a great deal about the area and the wines.
What's great is they also great customized wine labels if you are do need something personal for a special event.
This day they had a lot of food options to enjoy with the tasting which added to the enjoyment of ourMy husband and I had stopped into 2 or 3 tasting rooms and were disappointed. I found this vineyard in a book with suggestions for vineyards, took a picture of the wineries and we went to a few.We have been wanting to stop by for years. They also had a delicious gamay noir.
Loved the chardonnay and I'm not a chardonnay person. and others plants, that I'm sure families would enjoy having a picnic at.Our favorites were the Citizen's Pinot Noir, their rose, and their "Great food--especially the burgers! Will, the guy that was pouring today was super nice. *shrugs*My friend and I literally got in a car from Portland and just wandered. Of course the free bite size chocolate we were gifted rounded out the tasting and left us pleased with our stop.The day we visited, live music was scheduled from 6pm-8pm which is a rarity at wineries. Gamay has low tannins, pairs wonderfully with food and is a great option for those looking for a lower alcohol option. Sales people seemed distracted and offered very poor customer service. It's a really nice place and beautiful grounds.

We were hoping to walk from our hotel after the long drive, so were happy to see there are quite a few tasting room options within a half mile.First up was Methven Family Vineyards and Winery. This year we decided to tack on a day in Dundee, Oregon to hit up the plethora of wineries we’ve read a lot about.The goal of the trip is to relax and go-with-the-flow, which means we drove into Dundee with no plans in place other than our hotel (Inn at Red Hills – review to come). Indoor and outdoor space is available for up to 300 guests.
