This bilingual edition of Antipoems: How to Look Better & Feel Great collects twenty-three poems originally published in Hojas de Parra (1985), two from Páginas en Blanco (2001), and thirty-two previously unpublished poems; none of the poems have been published in English before. Anti-poetry is an art movement that attempts to break away from the normal conventions of traditional poetry.Early proponents of anti-poetry include the Chilean Nicanor Parra and the Greek Elias Petropoulos.. Parra, known as the father of anti-poetry, published his first collection of antipoems in 1954 and sought to reject the belief that verse holds any mystical power.
