The grapes within the Résonance Vineyard microclimate were close to perfection. Minerality dominates a long and elegant finale. The grapes are handpicked in the heart of the Dundee Hills wine region and defined by the red-fruit character and freshness typical of their volcanic Jory soils. Medium ruby, the 2015 Résonance Vineyard Pinot Noir is scented of baked blackberries, blueberry coulis, toasted coconut, autumn leaves and dried violets with hints of earth and a classy framing of sweet spice. During elevage, we control the juice with a light touch honed over 170 years of winemaking in Burgundy, boosting each vintage to achieve its most natural elegance and complexity. The vintage marks the year we retrained our organically farmed vines to further extract the complexity of the soil. Our Pinot Noir grapes are handpicked just steps from The Winery and hand-sorted upon arrival. The palate is supple, full-bodied, and particularly well-balanced. It’s medium-bodied and silky with more restraint in the mouth. The vintage marks the year we retrained our organically farmed vines to further extract the complexity of the soil. Résonance Vineyard Pinot Noir unveils the immense character, the “somewhereness” of this original site, within the Yamhill-Carlton AVA. The 2015 growing season began early, and, with a solid spring and summer, the Pinot Noir grapes reached optimal ripeness with good concentration. The Résonance Vineyard terroir imparts its signature minerality and tannic structure, an effect known as “polished tannins.” The aromatic concentration is remarkable, with black cherry, blackberry, and blueberry aromas.
